The project consisted of making a rundown, damp garage into a home office.
This garage was attached to the side of the main house. It had not been used for many years, due to it being too small to house a modern car. There had been water coming in through the roof which had caused damage to the walls and resulted in damp penetrating the wall between the garage and the kitchen. It was at this point that the clients decided to have the damp problem dealt with and convert the garage, which they had been considering for sometime.
We started by replacing the roof. We took away the garage door and built a wall to the front with a window. Once the room was water tight we tanked the walls and damp coursed the floor. We then went about installing a new electrical installation. A radiator was installed which was connected to the existing central heating system in the house.
This now a home office for a self employed bookkeeper.
